Winning $95m Powerball ticket purchased in Arizona
PHOENIX, AZ – An assistant store manager at Safeway in Fort Mohave says the northwest Arizona community is buzzing and wondering who has the $95 million Powerball jackpot ticket from Wednesday’s drawing. The ticket was purchased at the store earlier this week and matched all the numbers drawn on Wednesday, giving the winner a truly life changing win.
Jeff Hatch-Miller, executive director of the Arizona Lottery said, “The dream of striking it rich came true yesterday for a lucky Powerball winner here in Arizona “The winning ticket was sold in Ft. Mohave, so it’s not surprising the winner hasn’t come forward yet. When they do, it’s going to be a pleasure for me to sign a check for more than $95 million, provide a very memorable holiday this year and shake the hand of someone whose life will never be the same.”
Lottery officials say that they don’t expect the winner to come forward immediately as there is a lot to think about. Not least whether they will choose to take the lump sum cash option of $50 million or a 30 year annuity of the $95.3 million total prize.
The Safeway store in Fort Mohave will also receive a $25,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The winning ticket holder has 180 days to claim the prize from any Arizona Lottery office. They can write or go in person to the office.
The winning numbers drawn on Wednesday were 5, 10, 11, 12, 20 and the Powerball was 2.
