Winner of €5.1m Irish Lotto jackpot to wait for son’s return before claiming her prize

DROGHEDA, IRELAND – The Irish Independent reports that the winner of last weekend’s Irish Lotto jackpot will not be picking up her massive €5.1m prize until her son returns from Australia.
Lily Gallagher revealed that her son Anthony, a qualified plumber, had to emigrate from Drogheda, Co Louth, earlier this year because he could not get any work.
She wants to wait for him to return so he can join her when she picks up the cheque at National Lottery headquarters.
“I want to wait and see can he get back,” said Mrs Gallacher, admitting she would prefer the pick-up to be a family affair. In the meantime, the ticket will be kept in a very, very safe place.
Mrs Gallagher said the first plans she has for the money is to pay off the mortgages on her, her son’s and her daughter Melissa’s house.
She is certain that a bracelet bought for her by one of her grandchildren brought her luck and helped her win the jackpot. “I was feeling down and he came in and said to me, ‘Granny I’m after buying you a lucky bracelet in the market for €2′. I definitely think it was a lucky bracelet and I keep saying it to him.”
The winning numbers drawn on Saturday 15th October were 4, 9, 16, 28, 32 and 43. The bonus number was 1.
Mrs Gallacher has 90 days from the draw date to claim her life-changing prize.
