National Lottery ticket worth £1million goes unclaimed; holder believed to be from Leicester

LEICESTER, UK – One unfortunate lottery player from Leicester has failed to claim the £1million prize their winning ticket was worth. All the prize money now goes to the National Lottery’s Good Causes fund.
Camelot, the UK National Lottery organisers said the window for claiming the Euromillions winnings closed at 11p.m. on Monday 9th July.
A spokesperson for Camelot told the press, “Unfortunately, I can confirm that the ticket holder did not come forward within the deadline to claim their prize and has now sadly missed out on this substantial amount of money. I would urge all National Lottery players to check their tickets on a regular basis.”
Leicester’s Lord Mayor had even installed a countdown timer at the Haymarket clock tower in the city, but his efforts were in vain as the prize still went unclaimed.
