BRISBANE, Ql – A Brisbane man is counting his lucky stars after managing to find his winning Saturday Gold Lotto ticket after an hour of increasingly frantic searching.

The winner, who preferred not to be named was called by Golden Casket on the weekend about him being the lucky holder of a winning ticket (along with eight others). He was worried when he couldn’t find said ticket and spent a panicked hour looking high and low for his ticket before eventually finding it in his shorts!

Lottery officials were only able to contact this winning player after he registered his ticket to a Winner’s Circle card. A Winner’s Circle card costs AUS$5 and is probably one of the wisest investments of this mans life! “If he had of been unregistered and not been able to find his ticket then he would have been none the wiser,” Bianca Green, from Golden Casket, said in the Brisbane Times.

His total prize is one ninth of the AUS$4million Saturday Gold Lotto jackpot or just under AUS$445,000.

The winning numbers were 5, 13, 24, 26, 28 and 41.
