Siblings win $250k Pennsylvania Lottery scratch card prize

HARRISBURG, PA – A brother and sister from the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania yesterday claimed a $250,000 Pennsylvania Lottery prize after winning the prize from a “Big Winner Spectacular” scratch off ticket.

Donna Long and Brian Weil were presented with a novelty check for $250,000 at the Highway Superette store where they purchased the ticket by lottery area manager Craig Rogan in a ceremony yesterday. The store gets a bonus of $500 for selling the winning scratch card.

Mrs. Long said in a press release from the Pennsylvania Lottery that, “My brother and I are so glad we won a big prize, now we can take the family to Disney World for Christmas. We’ve won smaller prizes before, but we know there’s an even larger one out there for us, so we’re going to keep playing.”

Big Winner Spectacular is a $10 scratch card that was launched in October 2009 with 25 top prizes of $250,000, of which 9 now remain. The odds of winning any prize from this game are 3.69 to one.
