Vancouver couple discover lottery win 3 months after buying ticket
VANCOUVER, B.C. – A couple from Vancouver had more to be thankful for than most this Thanksgiving as they only checked a Lotto 6/49 ticket they purchased for a draw made on July 3rd this weekend and found it was worth CA$3.4 million.
Richard Peters and Christina Babchuk are the couple in question and they are delighted to have found out they won such a big prize from so long ago.
Mr. Peters said that they had recently purchased a lot of tickets and were going through the list on the British Columbia Lottery Corporation website when they discovered that the ticket they’d bought had matched all six numbers in the July 3rd Lotto 6/49 draw.
As for their plans for the unexpected windfall, the couple said they would take a holiday in Europe and buy themselves a new home.
