Minnesota man wins $200k scratch card jackpot
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Darrell Nelson from Alexandria, Minnesota is the first player to have won the $200,000 jackpot from the Minnesota Lottery’s $10 “Wild Cherry Slots” scratch-off ticket.
Mr Nelson is the first player in the state to win one of the five top prizes in the Wild Cherry game and he beat odds of 288,000 to 1 to win the jackpot.
The lucky winner gave no indication of what he would do with the prize money but he was clearly delighted to have gained such a large prize during difficult economic circumstances.
Since 1990, the Lottery has raised more than $1.9 billion for state programs, according to Lottery officials. The state’s general fund has received more than $1.1 billion to help fund functions such as education, public safety and health and human services. An additional $732 million has funded environmental programs.
