Christmas shopper wins €3.2 million Irish Lotto jackpot

DUBLIN – A lucky festive shopper in Dublin city centre may have scooped the Irish Lotto €3.2 million jackpot this weekend.

According to the Irish Independent, speculation was rife yesterday as to whether the newest Lotto millionaire may have been shopping for gifts at Blanchardstown Shopping Centre in Dublin when they bought a €4 quick-pick ticket for the draw made on Saturday evening.

Rumours of the big win spread fast all over Dublin on Sunday as hundreds of people with Lotto tickets stopped by Tom Stanley Newsagents in the centre to see if they held the lucky ticket to the €3,295,763 jackpot.

David Crossan, one of the owners of the newsagents, said there was plenty of buzz around the centre about the win.

“There are a lot of people out here in the centre and they are coming in to check their tickets,” he said. Mr Crossan said the ticket was purchased in the store on Friday evening.

The winning numbers drawn were 12, 19, 21, 31, 39 and 42. The bonus number was 2.
