Queensland man wins AUS$10m jackpot
DECEPTION BAY, QD – An anonymous lottery winner from Deception Bay, Queensland is $10 million richer after winning last Tuesday’s Oz 7 Lotto draw.
According to a news release from the Queensland lottery operator Golden Casket, the winning player is a father of three and did not check his ticket until a week after the draw was made.
The lucky winner was delighted with the win but is determined not to change as a person despite winning a life-changing amount of money.
He said, “When I bought the ticket I had just done some shopping and put the ticket in the shopping bag with the bread. I don’t regularly check my numbers, but last night it got the better of me.Despite my lack of sleep I have decided that life will be kept as normal as possible. I plan to use the money to buy a house and to help my family.”
The ticket the winner bought cost him $12.70 as it was a 12 Game Quick Pick ticket that gave him more chances to win.
Elissa Lewis, the PR manager of Golden Casket said that this win was one of the largest and longest unclaimed prizes in the history of the lottery in Queensland.
“Only a number of prizes of this nature have gone more than a couple of days before being claimed. We were confident that releasing details of the outlet that sold the winning ticket would result in the winner coming forward.” she said
The winning numbers were 12, 26, 28, 33, 36, 38 and 43. The supplementary numbers were 11 and 14.
