Indiana man takes home $3.6m after Hoosier Lotto win
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – One Indiana man has a great problem to deal with as he must decide what to do with $3.6 million dollars after winning the January 5 Hoosier Lottery.
Robert Lee Simmons Jr. opted for the lump sum cash payout for the $9.5 million lotto draw.
He was presented with the biggest check he’d ever seen early Thursday afternoon.
“It’s going to pay off my hospital bills and then I’m going to take it one day at a time,” Simmons said.
Simmons said he has played the lotto for close to 20 years but this is the first time he’s won.
He said he didn’t know he had even won until he went to the lotto office to check his numbers.
