UK couple win EuroMillions jackpot
Gloucestershire UK – A couple from Cirencester have won £56million after sharing a monster EuroMillions jackpot with another winner in Spain.
The lucky winners are Nigel Page, 43 and his 41 year old partner Justine Laycock. The pair have already said that they plan on giving up work and using the money to purchase a new property and travel with their children. They are very happy in the area they currently live in so won’t be moving far, just to a bigger, more luxurious home.
Mr Page said that when he discovered how much he and his partner had won he “started shaking and couldn’t speak.” He runs a property maintenance business but won’t be returning to work anymore.
Ms. Laycock said of the win, “”We’ve got a lovely long list of people we’re going to help and make their lives so much more comfortable. We’ve got this fantastic opportunity and we’re going to utilise it 100%.”
The win is one of the largest ever recorded and is the biggest single prize given to a UK winner. The world’s largest lottery prize was won by a group of eight co-workers in Nebraska with a prize of £209.6million ($365m), the largest prize issued to a single player was also in the USA when Andrew Whitaker Jr took home a £197.4million ($314m) Powerball jackpot prize in December 2002.
