Virginia Lottery achieves sales record for fiscal year
RICHMOND, VA – The Virginia State Lottery has released its financial figures for the fiscal year ending June 30th and the results are very positive, for lottery players and the Virginia Lottery’s coffers.
Sales figures for the Virginia Lottery totaled $1.48 billion, with total profits reaching $444m.
The Virginia Lottery isn’t just taking from its loyal players, record amounts in prizes were also given out over the course of the past financial year.
The biggest prize won in the state was a $107m Mega Millions jackpot won by a man from McLean.
According to lottery officials working for the Virginia Lottery, the recent success has been due in part to the big increase in lottery vendors all over the state.
