Atlanta teacher wins $195,000
ATLANTA, Ga. – The summer break can’t come quickly enough for an Atlanta elementary school teacher after she won the Fantasy 5 jackpot of $195,000 on Monday’s drawing.
Alicia Barnes, 35, an Atlanta Public Schools teacher matched all five numbers drawn to scoop the jackpot. The numbers drawn were, 17, 24, 26,28 and 38.
Worryingly, Mrs. Barnes had initially misplaced her winning ticket but eventually found it under a chair in her basement. The mother of five told a press conference at Lottery headquarters that, “there was a lot of crying after we found it. After we calmed down it still seemed unreal.”
Alicia Barnes and her husband, James, are planning a trip to South Africa and will also use the winnings in investments and to pay off bills.
