Queues build ahead of record Bulgaria Lotto jackpot

SOFIA, Bulgaria – Excitement at a record lottery jackpot of around €3million is building on the streets of Bulgaria with long queues growing at stores and kiosks where one can buy tickets.

Bulgarian lottery fever is not restricted just to the country. People from neighbouring states such as Greece, Macedonia, Romania and Serbia have crossed the border to buy tickets and hopefully match six winning numbers.

The record jackpot has occurred over 21 weeks of rollovers, with more and more people buying tickets each time the jackpot grew. The next draw will be made this Thursday and estimates suggest that even more than the 1.4million tickets sold for the previous draw will be sold.

Bulgaria is the poorest country in the European Union, so if anyone from there wins the jackpot they will immediately become one of the countries wealthiest people.
