South Florida man wins $1m scratch card prize

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Fifty-five year old Raspus Flowers of Lauderdale Lakes has claimed a $1million Florida Lottery prize after winning the prize on a Billion Dollar Blockbuster scratch card ticket.

Flowers will receive around $650,000 from the Florida Lottery after he chose the one-time lump sum payment. The $350,000 taken off the prize amount account for federal and state taxes withholding.

Mr. Flowers is the 27th winner of a million dollar prize from the Billion Dollar Blockbuster scratch card. According to the Florida Lottery the scratch card, priced at $20, still has 93 $1million prizes remaining to be won. It also has the single biggest prize fund in the 21 year history of the Florida Lottery.

The Billion Dollar Blockbuster scratch off ticket was launched in February 2009, and features more than $1 billion in prizes, including 10 instant-win prizes of $10 million.
