Winning Maryland Lottery ticket worth $250k sold in Thurmont

THURMONT, MD – A second tier Mega Millions prize of $250,000 has been won by a lucky player in Maryland who purchased the ticket in Thurmont, according to a news release from the Maryland Lottery.

The lucky winner, who has six months to claim their prize, matched all five numbers in the main Mega Millions draw on Friday but missed out on the Mega Ball to win the jackpot.

The store in Thurmont where the ticket was purchased will receive a bonus of $1,000 from the Maryland Lottery for selling a winning ticket.

Tomorrow’s jackpot prize rolled over to a total of $44 million after nobody managed to match all the winning numbers.

The numbers drawn on Friday night were 11, 12, 17, 21 and 23. The Mega Ball was 20.
