Winnipeg Lotto 6/49 winners claim $3.6 million prize

WINNIPEG – Shauna and David Newsham are Manitoba’s newest millionaires after claiming their $3.6-million Lotto 6/49 winnings. Their big win came from the Lotto 6/49 draw made on January 15th.

Shauna purchased the ticket while at a gas station and was unaware of their incredible fortune more than a week.

The couple have no plans to quit their jobs, at least not in the near future, David is a chiropractor while Shauna is a speech language pathologist.

The families other plans for the winnings include buying a new vehicle, pay off their house and save for the education of their three girls, who are all under the age of eight.

“When the man behind me actually yelled out how much the amount was, I was trying to not say too much,” said Shauna. “The lady beside me said ‘Oh my goodness dear! Congratulations! Now don’t do anything rash or crazy.’ So we’re not going to do anything rash or crazy.”

The winning Lotto 6/49 numbers drawn on January 15th were 10, 15, 35, 42, 44 and 47. The bonus number was 39.
