Fortune family scoop £3.7m Lotto jackpot

LARKHALL, SCOTLAND – The Fortune’s from Larkhall in Scotland can finally live up to their name after winning a third share of an £11million National Lottery jackpot.

Janet Fortune, 84, her son Clark, 48, and daughters Rona, 56, and Jean, 58, will split the cash between them.

They revealed how their lucky numbers had been those used by their dad Alec, who died in 1999, and how Gran of five Janet has only asked for a pair of pyjamas and earrings from the money.

Rona said: “It’s a family ticket. My dad always took our ages and put them on when the lottery first started. We just kept putting it on after my dad died 11 years ago. We thought that’s what he would have wanted. I had actually forgotten to put the ticket on a couple of weeks before. I’m glad it wasn’t the draw we won or I would have been a bit unpopular!”

They had kept quiet about their bumper payout before word spread through Larkhall.

Dad-of-two Clark, mum-of-two Rona and mum-of-one Jean have all vowed to stay in Larkhall and none of them plan to quit their jobs.

The family, from Larkhall, Lanarkshire, hit the jackpot with the numbers 11, 27, 46, 47, 48, 49 in the August 24th draw.
