Excellent financial year for Kansas Lottery

KANSAS CITY, KS. -The Kansas state lottery commission on Wednesday announced its sales are up over two percent this financial year compared to fiscal 2009 figures.

Officials say sales for the year that ended June 30th were over $235 million dollars. The Lottery transferred about $69 million of profit to state funds.

Sales of instant scratch tickets and pull tabs held fairly steady. These games are normally the core part of sales for most U.S. state lotteries and again this holds true for the Kansas Lottery.

The addition of Mega Millions and Raffle this year helped to increase lottery revenues for fiscal year 2010.

In terms of other popular games that Kansas Lottery offer, Powerball and Super Kansas Cash ticket sales were up, and Hot Lotto sales were down slightly.
